1 General Instructions
1.1. Please thoroughly read and understand all the instructions mentioned herein before accessing the website
1.2. These appointments will be awarded as per the Cabinet Decision No. 21/0658/340/013 dated 19.04.2021 and No. 21/2076/315/033-I dated 13.12.2021 as well as in accordance with the provisions of the Service Minute No. 1885/38 dated 23.10.2014 of the Sri Lanka Teachers’ Service
1.2.1. The categories proposed to be given the teacher appointments and the related program are as follows
1.2.1.1 All graduate trainees recruited under the Graduate Employment Program – 2020
1.2.1.2 Those who were recruited for training as graduate trainees under the “Training for trainee graduates in Government Institutions” program implemented in 2018 and 2019 and who received permanent appointments in the Development Officers’ Service with effect from 01.01.2020 and 01.01.2021
1.2.1.3 Diploma Holders recruited in 2020, 2019 and 2018 under the Graduates Employments Program
1.2.2. The applicants will be subjected to a general interview to check whether they have fulfilled the basic recruitment qualifications in accordance with the section 7.2.4.4.1(1) of the Service Minute No. 1885/38 dated 23.10.2014 of the Sri Lanka Teachers’ Service
1.2.3. The age of the trainees recruited under the “Graduates Employment Program -2020” to the posts of the Sri Lanka Teachers' Service, the officers recruited to the Development Officers’ Service from 01.01.2020 and the Development Officers recruited to the Development Officers’ Service from 01.01.2021 should be less than 35 years as at 31.12.2019
1.2.4. The applicants who get qualified from the General Interview in terms of Section 7.2.4.4. (2) of the Service Minute No.1885/38 dated 23.10.2014 of the Sri Lanka Teachers’ Service will be called for the practical test
1.2.5. This practical test will be held in accordance with the Service Minute No.1885/38 dated 23.10.2014 of the Sri Lanka Teachers’ Service
1.2.6. The appointments for vacancies existing in each subject will be given according to the order of the marks obtained in the practical test
1.2.7. Such an appointment will be on temporary appointment basis and subjected to a period of 10 years of service at the school to which the appointment is given
1.2.8. A written examination will be held in accordance with the section 7.2.4.1 of the Service minute of the Sri Lanka Teachers’ Service within a period of 3 years after giving temporary appointments, and the officers who pass the said examination will be given permanent appointments
1.2.9. For the applicants who fail the above examination, the actions will be taken to hold an examination again within a period of one year or to re-appoint them to their previous posts or to attach the graduate trainees as Development Officers or to terminate the service of the Diploma holders who fail the examination
1.2.10. Only if there is no a sufficient number of qualified graduates for each subject, the actions will be taken to fill the vacancies from the Diploma Holders
1.2.11. In selecting the applicants for existing Education Zone based teacher vacancies, the action will be taken to make recruitments only for the subject-related vacancies considering the educational qualifications of each applicant
1.2.12. In making applications for each subject, it is mandatory that the applicants have studied that subject as a main subject in their degree or diploma course
1.3. If there are particulars that need to be mentioned in addition to the details mentioned in the application form, please mention such particulars in “Requests/Comments” column of the database
1.4. The letters on vacancies issued by the principals will be rejected
1.5. These appointments will be issued to you by the Secretary to the Ministry of Education
1.6. Those who cannot complete this online application before the deadline due to being subjected to a quarantine law or for some other reason should call the Help Desk immediately for required instructions
1.7. If you encounter with any problem in completing the application, please send a scanned copy of the letter of confirmation in the Development Officers’ Service and a copy of the National Identity Card certified by the Head of the Institute together with a request letter indicating a telephone number to contact you to probgraduate2@gmail.com and be kind to call us through our Help Desk subsequently.
1.8. When this scanned copied are sent via email, it is compulsory that you mention your name with initials in English in the subject row of the email. Eg. Sbject A.W. Nanayakkara
1.9. Also, when the relevant groups call the Help Desk phone numbers, please make sure that you call the appropriate phone number while being observant on classification of each phone number
1.10. If you wish to serve in a Provincial School, please mention it in the relevant place of the application
1.11. The applicants who give their preference for Provincial Schools should indicate the Provinces in preferential order and we send those particulars to the relevant provinces
1.12. If there will not be sufficient no. of vacancies for National Schools, these applicants will be referred to the Provinces they apply for
1.13. In the event of any inconsistency among the texts of this notification published in Sinhala, Tamil and English languages, the Sinhala text shall prevail
1.14. The closing date of application will be 2022.03.15
2 Instructions for selecting the vacancies
2.1. The vacancies of the system existing in National Schools have been listed by Education Zone according to your subject and medium
2.2. You can select 05 Education Zones of your choice from those teacher vacancies
2.3. Giving appointments and placements will be done only in accordance with the number of vacancies and the order of the merits obtained from the practical test, and marking preference for Education Zones will not be considered as a qualification for a teaching appointment
2.4. The Secretary to the Ministry of Education reserves the right of final decision on giving an appointment for another subject if there are no vacancies in the subject you are applying for according to the order of the marks obtained in the practical test, giving attachments to the marked Education Zones, giving another Education Zone if there are no vacancies in the marked Education Zone or with reference to any other issues that may arise in this regard
3 General instructions on the use of website
3.1. Your National Identity Card (N.I.C) Number should be used as your username and you need to login again with a password to complete the registration. After the login, you will not be allowed to change the password
3.2. There is a possibility to revise the information you entered if you keep the password in memory
3.3. Information can be revised till the closing date of applications
3.4. The requests made after the closing date of applications will not be accepted
3.5. The sections of Personal Information, Educational Qualifications and Selection of preferred Education Zone of the online application should be filled by you
3.6. One applicant will be given the opportunity to register only once
3.7. You will not be able to access this information system if you do not fulfill the requirements set out in the Section No. 1.2.3
4 Technical Instructions to use the website
4.1. After login, you need to give a Password. You can edit your selection through the password you provided
4.2. Please mark (✔) in the relevant place once you read and understand the information before providing the password
4.3. The screen will display that the password is successful. After clicking the Continue button, you will be re-directed to the home page. After selecting your registered National Identity Card (N.I.C) Number and medium of language as before, please login yet again by using your registered password
4.4. Your information for the sections of Personal Information, Educational Qualifications and Selection of preferred Education Zone should then be entered
4.5. You can select the vacancies according to your preference order. See instructions for filling vacancies and enter the information afterwards
4.6. If you have any further request in this regard, please indicate in the requests / comments column of the menu
4.7. Check the summary of information you entered. If there is a problem, please call our phone numbers in the Helpline menu
4.8. If you need to revise your choice again, you can re-enter the particulars in the sections of personal information, educational information and selection of preferred education zones
4.9. Afterwards, download it as a PDF file by clicking the Download Icon. Please print the downloaded PDF file, duly complete the application with required details, get it certified by your Head of the institution and send a scanned copy of the application to the email Graduates.app@gmail.com on or before the closing date of application (Please do not send by registered post)
4.10. When the scanned copy of the application is sent via email, it is compulsory to mention your name with initials in English in the subject row of the email
4.11. It is compulsory to bring the original of the said application when you come for the interview
4.12. If; in any case, you revise the application prior to the closing date of application, only the scanned copy of the last revised application should be sent to the above e-mail address
4.13. The requests to revise the information included in the application form after the closing date of applications will not be accepted
